MASTER Classes with
Tom besford
We are very excited to invite Tom Besford to America for our first DART Master Classes.
What is a master class?
Each team can sign up for a master class which will be a deep dive on each team's dance. This will work as follows: each team will perform their dance once for Tom, who will then give insightful feedback. Teams will then be given time to workshop their dance and perform it again. There will be 4 one-hour slots, with 3-4 teams each. When a team is not participating in a class, they are encouraged to observe Tom's other master classes, hang out in the space, etc.
Who is Tom Besford?
Tom Besford is a founding member of Four Corner Sword, Star & Shadow, Oakenyouth and Medlock Rapper. He is a former Squire of the Newcastle Kingsmen and Sallyport Sword Dancers. A five times DERT Steve Marris Trophy winner, he hosted Manchester DERT 2016, wrote Swearsdell (see P Heaton's 'Rapper' book), and is a member of High Spen Blue Diamonds and general rapper geek.
The master classes will be in the Somerville Armory with 4 one hour blocks each with 3-4 teams on Sunday. The class is open to the public.
